December 1 was World’s Aids Day and while I’m 2 days behind, I still find it incredibly important to share this immensely important day. AIDS/HIV is a growing epidemic worldwide and today 36.7 million people live with this disease. It fills me with hope to hear statistically speaking the infection rate in the US is going down. However, currently only 60% of people with AIDS/HIV know their status worldwide. While there are amazing new advances and things like PrEP, as a world we have to do better in protecting ourselves and our partners. Get tested regularly, don’t be afraid to know your status because you’ve made some stupid choices in the heat of the moment, use a condom, and remember there are so many amazing resources today to help you understand all of this. #worldaidsday #protectyourself #knowyourstatus #spreadthemessage #loveislove
